Welcome to my blog: Cô Lien says!
This is my personal blog of everyday stories from life in Hanoi.
From January 2026 onwards, I no longer publish new blog articles here. Even though I am still living in Hanoi and the city still catches my attention, I can’t quite find the momentum to write about it anymore.
I loved sharing early morning routines, street life, traffic noise, funeral music, coffee culture, urban gardening, the beauty and complexity of the Vietnamese language, seasonal traditions, and more.
Cô Liên isn’t a real person. But she could have been. Cô is a Vietnamese pronoun for a woman older than you (but not old-old), and Liên is a common and beautiful name I’ve borrowed with love.
Enjoy reading!
