Welcome to my blog: Cô Lien says!

This is my personal blog of everyday stories from life in Hanoi. I write about whatever catches my attention: early morning routines, street life, traffic noise, funeral music, coffee culture, urban gardening, the beauty and complexity of the Vietnamese language, seasonal traditions, and more. Some posts are reflective, others observational, all grounded in daily experience.

Whether you're curious about Hanoi, interested in daily life in Vietnam, or just passing through: Have fun reading!

And no, Cô Liên isn’t a real person. But she could be. Cô is a Vietnamese pronoun for a woman older than you (but not old-old), and Liên is a common and beautiful name I’ve borrowed with love.
